- ½ Red/yellow bell pepper
For Pizza assembly:
- Pizza sauce
- Mozzarella cheese
- Cooked chicken fajita mix

Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix all-purpose flour, salt, sugar, yeast, oil, and warm water. Knead until you get a soft, smooth dough. Cover and let it rise for 1–2 hours until doubled in size (or refrigerate overnight for deeper flavour).
- Heat oil in a pan. Add chicken strips along with paprika, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and lemon juice. Cook until the chicken is fully cooked and slightly charred. Set aside.
- Lightly sauté sliced onions and bell peppers for a few minutes. Keep them slightly crunchy for the best texture.
- Gently stretch the dough using your hands without pressing out the air. Avoid using a rolling pin to keep the crust light and airy.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the base, including a light layer on the edges for a flavorful crust. Add mozzarella cheese, followed by the cooked chicken fajita mix, sautéed vegetables, and optional toppings like olives or jalapeños.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 250°C (480°F) for 7–8 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Sprinkle dried or fresh herbs immediately after baking. Slice and serve hot.
Tips & Tricks
Use High Heat for Best Crust: A very hot oven helps create a crisp base with a soft, airy interior.
Don’t Overcook the Veggies: Slight crunch in peppers and onions gives the perfect fajita texture.
Brush Sauce on the Edges: This adds extra colour and flavour to the pizza crust.
Don’t Use a Rolling Pin: Stretch the dough gently with your hands instead of using a rolling pin to keep the air bubbles intact. This helps create a light, airy, and restaurant-style crust.
FAQs
Can I make the chicken fajita filling ahead of time? Absolutely. You can cook the chicken and veggies 1–2 days in advance and store them in the fridge.
Can I use a pan instead of an oven? Yes, but results will differ. Use a covered pan or stovetop pizza method on low heat for a similar effect.
How do I prevent soggy pizza? Avoid excess sauce, pre-cook watery vegetables, and bake at high heat so moisture evaporates quickly.
Why is my pizza crust not airy? This usually happens if you use a rolling pin or overwork the dough. Stretch it gently with your hands to keep air pockets intact.

I tried this recipe yesterday, and I just have to say… WOW! 🤩
A little background, we recently moved abroad and have been struggling to find really good halal pizza nearby. We were craving pizza so much that I decided to give this recipe a try.
At first, I was skeptical because the dough was quite difficult to handle. But as it rested, it became much more manageable, and OMG… the pizza turned out absolutely incredible! 🍕 The crust was PERFECT!!!!
I genuinely couldn’t believe I had made a pizza like this at HOME!! My husband kept asking me if the dough/crust was store-bought, and I think that says it all. 😂
